Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to charter a yacht in Sardinia?

The Sardinia yacht charter season typically runs from May through October, with July and August offering the warmest weather and liveliest atmosphere. Many experienced charter guests prefer June and September, when you'll enjoy warm temperatures, excellent swimming conditions, fewer crowds, and greater yacht availability. Whether you're looking for vibrant beach clubs, peaceful anchorages, or the best value, we can help you choose the ideal time for your charter.

Should I charter a catamaran or a motor yacht in Sardinia?

For most families and groups, a luxury crewed catamaran offers the best balance of comfort, stability, and value. Its shallow draft allows access to secluded beaches and crystal-clear anchorages throughout the La Maddalena Archipelago and along Sardinia's spectacular coastline.A motor yacht is better suited to guests who want to cover greater distances, enjoy premium onboard amenities, or combine Sardinia with destinations such as southern Corsica during the same itinerary. The best choice depends on your budget, group size, and preferred style of cruising, and we're happy to help you compare the options.

Can I visit Corsica during a Sardinia yacht charter?

Yes. One of Sardinia's greatest advantages is its proximity to southern Corsica. Many crewed yacht charters include destinations such as Bonifacio alongside Costa Smeralda and the La Maddalena Archipelago, allowing you to experience two incredible Mediterranean cruising grounds in a single holiday. Your captain will recommend the best itinerary based on your yacht, charter duration, and weather conditions.

How far in advance should I book a Sardinia yacht charter?

For the widest choice of yachts, we recommend booking 6 to 12 months in advance, especially if you're planning to travel during July, August, or other peak holiday periods. Sardinia is one of Europe's most popular luxury yacht charter destinations, and the best catamarans, motor yachts, and superyachts are often reserved many months ahead. Booking early gives you the best selection, preferred travel dates, and greater itinerary flexibility.

Do I need sailing experience for a crewed yacht charter in Sardinia?

No. A crewed yacht charter is designed to be completely effortless. Your professional captain takes care of navigation, route planning, docking, and safety, while the chef and crew handle every aspect of your onboard experience, from gourmet dining to daily service and water sports. Whether it's your first yacht charter or you're an experienced charter guest, you can simply relax and enjoy Sardinia from the water.

Are food, fuel, and drinks included in the charter price?

It depends on the yacht you choose. Many luxury catamarans operate on an all-inclusive basis, where meals, standard beverages, crew, and fuel for the planned itinerary are included in the charter rate. Most motor yachts and superyachts operate on a plus-expenses basis using an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which covers items such as fuel, food, beverages, and marina fees. We'll explain exactly what's included before you book, so there are no surprises.

Why book my Sardinia yacht charter through a charter broker?

Working with an independent yacht charter broker gives you access to the entire charter market rather than the fleet of a single operator. We compare hundreds of verified yachts, provide honest advice, and help you find the yacht that best matches your group, budget, and travel dates. Our recommendations are based on firsthand industry knowledge, crew feedback, and charter experience, and our service comes at no additional cost, as broker commissions are already included in the published charter rates.
